RECIPES

Now that we finally have green beans, I'm excited to share with you another delicious addition to the repertoire of cold salads that have made up so many of our meals during this hot summer.  And, since the temperatures have continued to top 90 degrees this week, I'd say we still have a few opportunities to make it!  Green Beans with Almond Pesto is nearly identical to these squash ribbons from a couple years ago, but I think I prefer the beans to the squash.  Beans and almonds are a can't-miss pairing, and adding a panzanella and a potato salad makes for a very satisfying hot-weather meal.

Jake's grandmother came for a late-summer visit last week, and while she was here she made this delicious Golden Summer Squash and Corn Soup, using BRF squash and herbs, and corn from our neighbor Walt at Village Farms.  It was one of the best summer squash soups I've ever tasted, and I can't recommend it highly enough!  It is served hot, but it's September, and the weather can't stay like this forever, can it?  Can it?!  It can't, right?

PICK-UP LOCATION AND DETAILS

Share pick-up takes place at the farm, on Thursdays between 3:00 and 6:00pm. Pull into the Lawrence Township community gardens and follow the gravel road uphill to the left.
